Head Of 'Stuff We Can Eat'
I am an enthusiastic naturalist, currently working for the Peak District National Park Authority. I have worked as a science teacher in mainstream schools and helped set up an alternative education provision for children missing from education. While doing a degree in Environmental Studies I did a placement year with BASF agrochemicals and volunteered with Working Weekends on Organic Farms at the weekends and holidays. I have also worked on conservation projects in Hungary, in Malaysia surveying coral reefs, and a small nature reserve in East Leeds where I spent many happy summer weekends making charcoal.
More recently I have been leading Junior Rangers groups around Leek and lecturing at the University of Derby on their Countryside Management degree and Public Services foundation degree.
I am expert in forest gardening and foraging, and I grow perennial veg and weeds to eat in my back garden.
I also enjoy walking, camping, cycling and canoeing.
