Officer in Charge of Being Healthy - The Wrangler of Rocks - Chief Splasher - Tamer of Chimps

Since childhood I’ve been drawn to the adventurous and healthy side of life. I grew up with green spaces all around me and revelled in them.

I always had an interest in science and that remains today. I spend time delving into hidden recesses of research, not just the mainstream but also the esoteric and the traditional.

My adventure spans decades of getting out and doing. I’ve travelled to most parts of the world and got well off the beaten track in them all. Whether it’s trekking in the deserts of Morocco, climbing to summits in the Himalaya, kayaking jungle rivers in Mexico, swimming in mountain lakes of Wales, running through blizzard conditions on ultramarathons, or walking with my family around the local trails I’m constantly seeking for adventure in all it’s forms.

I’m also constantly applying the scientific ideas I delve into. Whether it’s the pure physics involved in rock climbing, the cell biology of how different foods or environmental factors affect our bodies or the neurochemistry of behaviour I’m always thinking of how to explain and develop my own knowledge and skills.
